Here are the big messages this week, the Lucky Star, and what you can do with it.

Venus is the Lucky Star for the week!

Venus is a powerhouse this week. Sitting in Cancer, conjunct Jupiter, this planet of beauty, art, sensuality, abundance, and creativity is cozied right up next to the Lord of expansion, growth, generosity, and justice. What could be better?!

Venus is only a degree away from Jupiter on Monday, with these planets becoming exact by degree on Tuesday morning. For most of the week, she sits in Cancer, where she benefits from an essential dignity called triplicity. What this means is that there's an extra shine of luck and richness to everything she does in this sign. She's a self-made girl, and she's done well and can enjoy the finer things that, in her Venusian essence, give her pleasure, make her smile, and feel good both on the inside and on the outside. ;-)

She'll trine the Moon on Tuesday, giving lucky benefit to our dreams and intuition, and then turn around and square that same Moon on Thursday, challenging us to take a deep breath if our love lives feel a tad unsettled on this day. But that's fleeting, because as she moves into Leo on Saturday, she makes a sextile with that Moon, which could bring a fun and exciting weekend your way. Or at least you'll be able to enjoy the world around you with an attitude of gratitude and an ability to count your blessings.

On Saturday, when Venus transitions into fiery Leo, she will shift from talking about our family, traditions, roots, and the things that make us feel safe and secure to taking center stage at the open mic night—confident, playful, magnetic, and courageous. In Leo, Venus will be demanding her share of the pie while taking a bite of the plate next to her!

• Conjunction is when 2 planets come within about 1 degree of each other. It's the most powerful aspect, indicating an intensification and a blending of the energies involved. The conjunction can provide unity and focus and, in some cases, blur the boundaries between the planets' functions in this relationship.

  • This week: Venus Conjoins Jupiter Monday - Wednesday

• Square is a highly energetic angle – the planets involved challenge each other and can force issues to a head. Running away from the opportunity of these lessons means you will see them again soon; leaning into them brings growth and transformation.

  • This week: Moon Squares Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury on and off all week; Mercury Squares Saturn all week

• Trine is a beautiful, supportive, and harmonious aspect providing energetic ease, grace, and flow between the planets involved. It isn't especially challenging and can be a bit complacent. That said, in a week with a lot of challenges, a Trine can be a blessing. Planets in a Trine are like besties having a movie night, sitting on the couch, sharing popcorn and Skittles.

This is a week to intentionally leverage the power of Mercury - our analytical nature, how we speak, think, and communicate at large. The Sun in Gemini - one of Mercury’s two signs of domicile (of course, he’s bi-coastal y’all)- puts a bright spotlight on the exact information we need to find, giving us a grand stage to communicate messages that must be heard.

Uranus ensures we will find a completely new way to say it. We are reframing ideas, changing the "color" of our delivery, and helping others finally understand our perspective. This also works in reverse. You may finally hear and understand a message that people have been trying to tell you for a long time. Stay open to these breakthroughs.

With three planets in Cancer: Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter, a heavy focus remains on how we discuss tradition, our families (including chosen families), our roots, and our mothers. We are using communication to protect and build emotional security at home. The Venus-Jupiter conjunction, with Mars in Taurus, creates a strong, grounded energy around things that bring us pleasure and make us feel good. Mercury’s weeklong square to Saturn gives us the chance to slow down our communication and our thinking. It’s ideal for ‘making sure we are sure’ and considering all the information available to us. Week of June 8: day-to-day moves:

Monday

The week starts with a forceful square aspect between the Moon and the Sun, dominant through much of Monday. The areas of our lives where we dream and intuit could feel highly sensitive and fragile, though they hold great creative potential. This relationship is asking us to consider what we bring out in the light and what we keep hidden. How do we feel safe in moments where we have to tell the truth? And how do we tell the truth when we don't feel entirely safe? This doesn't have to be a massive moment; it could be revealing a small truth about yourself or shining a light on a family dynamic you are finally ready to look at.

Tuesday

By Tuesday, the initial tension lightens as the square is removed when the Moon moves into Aries and shifts into a lovely and helpful trine relationship with Jupiter and Venus, who are both in Cancer (the sign of the Moon's domicile). This feeling won’t last, but there might be an extra spring in your step this day. Tuesday is the day to tip your barista and pick those wildflowers to put on your desk.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, the Moon makes that same forceful square aspect to Mercury. This could feel very much like where we were on Monday, only this time it’s activating an urge to take action and give flight to our dreams. Wednesday, we may feel like we really need to talk that out, to give it voice and work through all the facets to understand deeply how that fits into everything else that's going on.

Mercury also moves into a helpful sextile aspect to Mars, which it will hold until the last few days of the month. On Wednesday, our words have the power to get things done. We can motivate others to action with what we say and how we communicate. We can also hear the messages we need to hear to get us going – listen for the signs. We find the way through the noise and distractions and get focused. Use this week and the next two to get your message out!

Thursday

The Moon is called a fickle friend for a reason. That beautiful aspect between the Moon, Venus and Jupiter on Tuesday, has shifted to a forceful square by Thursday. Remember that the Moon is moving quickly, and this aspect won’t be felt for long. Enjoy any moments of pause you get – they are moments of grace – and if your lover doesn’t call you back right away, don’t take it too personally. This too shall pass.

Friday & Saturday

The good news is that by the time we get to Friday, the forceful square is removed and the fast-moving Moon, working in Taurus (its sign of exaltation), makes a helpful sextile to Mercury (Friday) and then to Jupiter and Venus (Saturday). All the beautiful energies that have been built up this week are coming out with some clarity into what could be a fun-filled weekend! Feel the Love – all of it – and let them hear it!

On Saturday, our Lucky Star, Venus, moves into Leo. Here she is bold and brash and not afraid to ask for what she wants or to shine a light on her own beauty.

Sunday

Sunday is a quieter day without many aspects as the Moon slips into Gemini next to Uranus. The ongoing Mercury-Saturn square is a good reminder to slow down. So, I invite you to chill on Sunday and order in. Maybe try to get a low screen score on your phone. Rest, relax, sleep and don’t try to overthink or push the agenda.

Week of June 8 – planetary detail

Sun in Gemini: We begin the week with two planets in Gemini: the Sun and Uranus. Communication is on the Main Stage with the Sun in the Mercurial sign of Gemini.  Mercury also makes a helpful sextile to Mars starting on Wednesday, giving our communication a dynamic, powerful, and energetic mid-week boost.

Moon moving through Pisces, Aries, Taurus & Gemini: The Moon begins the week in Pisces, creating a beautiful mutual reception with Jupiter. The Moon is in Jupiter's sign, and Jupiter is in the Moon's sign. It’s like they are calling to each other across the skies and sending each other luck and good vibes. As we begin the week, expect a lovely, harmony flowing between how we dream, the cycles of our lives, and the curious, expansive, and generous parts of our nature.

The Moon shifts quickly (as it does) through Aries and then Taurus, ending the week in Gemini conjunct Uranus. We may feel that our emotional compass is being activated to move, act, and think differently by the end of the week. Something within us might shift, and we may feel different or be ready for a change.

Cancer stellium: We have a stellium in Cancer this week with Mercury, Jupiter, and Venus all in the same sign. Together, these three are saying: Feel the Love – all of it – and let me hear it! Venus and Jupiter are exceptionally close. This conjunction becomes exact on Tuesday and remains a defining relationship for most of this week. Enjoy it now as Venus will begin moving out of Cancer into “hot” Leo by Saturday.

The Saturn throttle: Mercury is making a forceful aspect relationship to Saturn this week – asking us to think again and consider all the angles. Slow down the process, read and re-read the contracts. Make sure you are sure. The Lord of structure and time and the God of flight and quickness are tugging at each other. The other side of this coin is also true – loosen up, let some new ideas in, listen to the minority opinion. Work both sides of this square to have the maximum success.

Mars is feeling demure: Mars continues its transit through the sign of Taurus this week and will sit there until the end of the month. Mars is restrained in Taurus – the energy that we have to drive and act is directed into practical, physical work. Use this energy now to get projects done – possibly even those mundane tasks at home that you’ve been putting off.

Looking further ahead to the end of June and into early July, Mars will make a conjunction with Uranus in Gemini, where things could get dicey. Historically, when Mars, the God of War, and Uranus, the Father of the Titans, and an ancient cosmic force, get together, they tend to create a storm. How this storm will be felt may be different for each of us, but expect wild, and dramatic changes to play out on the larger stage of our lives – affecting society and large groups. Since Uranus is an outer planet, it’s effects are felt at a broad level that pulls beyond our individual lives.

Saturn’s slow burn: Both Saturn and Neptune are in Aries. Both are slow-moving planets. Saturn spends 2.5 years in each sign, and Neptune spends 14 years in each sign! Get used to this is what I’m saying! Because Saturn is an inner, visible planet, it has a much more noticeable impact on our daily lives than Neptune. In Aries, Saturn acts as a throttle on our engines. It provides pressure and structure that regulates our impulses to "just go, move, and start things." This may feel like a slow burn – and might be a bit frustrating if you like to move fast. During this time, things won't start as quickly as we want; projects and tasks may take extra time.

AND - Knowing this energy is active allows you to plan ahead and give yourself the gift of building up energy so that when you launch, you do so with a more solid foundation.  Use this throttle to your advantage. Rail against it at your own risk.

Uranus shake up: Uranus, the planet of radical shifts and transformations, has been moving through the early degrees of Gemini, shaking up how we collectively think and communicate. It’s possible that Uranus in this sign can make us feel a bit wary and skeptical about things, if not down-right paranoid.

Neptune’s mystery fog: Neptune is sitting in fiery Aries and will be for quite a long time – he arrived in February and plans to stay until 2029! Neptune is the planet of the unconscious, mystery, and the in-between places. This watery planet is like the steam rising from the lake at dawn or the dense fog settling on the road at twilight. Are we still going straight? Are we even on the road? Who’s driving this car anyway?

When we are connecting with Neptune, we can lose control – that can be a bad thing and lead us into delusion and addiction – or it can be a good thing and lead us to enlightenment and visions that push us to new heights. In the sign of Aries, this planet is talking about action, motivation, and results. But that’s a bit like trying to bottle smoke. And pointing to true North is nearly impossible when you are encased in the fog.

As Neptune is an outer planet, this energy is felt mostly outside of us and will have less direct impact on our lives unless we are experiencing a direct transit. That said, we can work with this energy when we expect confusion and lost-in-translation kind of encounters. We can anticipate starts, stops and re-routes to the broader agendas going on around us (think social issues, etc.), and we can lean into the mystery and visions to go deeper, seeking the truth hidden in the fog.

Last but not least: Pluto is still in Aquarius, where it has been talking about issues of humanity like social justice, tolerance, and support for marginalized groups and communities for some time now. If you have Pluto transiting or aspecting an inner planet in your Natal chart, that’s a big deal right now. I find that for those who are within about 15 years of their first Saturn return (around ages 20 – 45), this can have a significant life-shaking impact. Those who are within 15 years of their second Saturn return (around ages 45 – 75) are likely handling this with more wisdom and grace. It’s still Pluto, to be sure, but that second Saturn return signals a learning from experience that softens blows and blunts edges - even from the Lord of Death, as Pluto has been called.
